Ryan’s First Union Complaint

Might as well put ‘em to work, huh?  Ryan pays about $600 a year to the union, and today I’d like to thank Captain X for giving him the opportunity to use them.

Ryan is modest and won’t say it, but he’s really well-liked in the dept.  As such, his friend CJ offered to take his shift today so we could party at the Open together!  Thanks CJ!  So they had Captain X change the schedule, and I woke up this morning with visions of beer and slutty plastic-surgeried Scottsdale chicks dancing in my head.

At 8 this morning Ryan called to say that someone had called in sick, and instead of following procedure and calling the next person on the mandatory list, Captain X decided it would just be easier for him if he made Ryan stay.  EVEN THOUGH HE KNEW RYAN HAD ALREADY GOTTEN THE OTHER SHIFT COVERED BECAUSE HE HAD FAMILY PLANS TODAY!  EVEN THOUGH RYAN HAS HAD TO WORK EVER SATURDAY HE’S SUPPOSED TO HAVE OFF FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS!

I wish it was as easy as having Ryan find another department, but it really isn’t just that easy.  I just hope that this crazy schedule ends.  Soon.  I miss my husband.

Thanks for listening.

Captain X just sounds so evil. It might be because you call him Captain X, which sounds like a b-movie villain from the 1950s.

I like that previous comment. It totally does sound like that. Didn’t Superman battle him once?

Thanks for your comment about my blog.. Yeah, the pic was a lucky shot. Was roarin’ like a freight train! You have a great site, wish I had the ability and dedication to do mine more often. Best wishes to you and Ryan. We have a hiring test coming up here soon… Just in case you both are tired of great weather.

    Regards

I hope the union comes through for him. It sounds like his captain is one of those who has let the rank do to his head. And does your husband work a 24/48? If he does, that should mean he does not have every Sturday on.

  7. you guys certainly have had more than your share of scheduling nightmares lately. I really hope that the union will do something for Ryan…he needs to put his $600 bucks a year to work!
